The approach over the Timmelsjoch is only possible in summer. Depending on the weather, the road is open from May to October.

Ötztal Bahnhof railroad station is located at the entrance to Ötztal. Various local and long-distance trains (including the Railjet) stop there several times a day. From the train station you can take the bus (departures every half hour) or a shuttle or cab to Umhausen.

The nearest airport is Innsbruck (approx. 100 km). The nearest international airports are Munich (250 km) or Zurich (300 km). From the airport you can either take public transport, a cab or a shuttle to Umhausen.
